No Fear! Bedtime Short Stories For Kids

No Fear!

The rabbit was envious of little Cat. They saw little Cat, who fell sick and had to rest at home. While he was staying at home to recover, he was served lots of yummy food. Therefore, the rabbit wanted to be sick too. He thought that if they fell ill, he could simply stay at home without going to school and get to eat lots of delicious, tasty food.

He tried many ways to get sick. After going out the whole day, he came back without washing his hands and started eating. When he was told to put on a mask, he refused. Finally, while it was raining, he went in the rain and got drenched.

The next day, he started developing a fever and cold. Mother Rabbit had to bring him to the hospital. After examining him, the doctor said, “I would need to give you an injection so that I can bring the high fever down faster.” The little rabbit started to cry, “No, I am scared it would hurt. I don’t want to have an injection.”

The doctor comforted him and said: “Don’t worry. My injection technique is excellent. It doesn’t hurt at all, and it will be over soon.”

The little rabbit shook his head.

The doctor continued, “You are a brave rabbit, and you will be fine.”

When the doctor took out the needle, the rabbit wailed louder. He was struggling when the doctor tried to hold him.

Just then, Squirrel, the rabbit’s classmate, came to buy some cold medicine.

When he saw this scene, he went over to calm his friend down. Squirrel said, “The injection doesn’t hurt at all, just like a tiny ant bite. It will be over before you know it. After you get the injection, you will feel better.”

With the encouragement from Squirrel, the rabbit finally relented. He accepted the injection reluctantly. When the doctor poked the needle into his arm, he frowned a little. The next moment, it was done.

“Oh, it was not as bad as I thought.” Rabbit said to Squirrel.

Squirrel smiled and pad on rabbit’s back. “You will be fine in no time. Here,  one lollipop for you.”

Within the next few days, the rabbit completely recovered. He was able to head out to play with his best friend, Squirrel.
