Candy Prank

There was once a cat who loves to play pranks on his friends. He enjoyed seeing his friends get a big shock and getting upset with being tricked by him or simply looking silly. Not only that, he relished the attention he got from all the mischief he did to his friends.

The little cat would sometimes hide behind trees and scared the Hens and their baby chicks. He also tricked the dogs into jumping to the pool to catch stars, which are only reflections. There were countless occasions of pranks he did to other animals.

The animals in the forest were furious with the little cat. They disliked the pranks that little cat played on them and decided to hold a meeting to figure out how to deal with the little cat. After a discussion, they agreed to simply ignore and not respond to the little cat at all.

All the baby animals stopped playing with the little cat. When he tried talking to them, they simply turned away as if he were not there. When little cat joined in their games, they walked away. The little cat had no one to play with. He felt sad and lonely. Feeling dejected, he thought to himself, “Oh dear, I have no friends now. What should I do to make my friends forgive me?” The little cat thought about it long and hard. Finally, he got an idea.

He went to the market to buy a lot of goodies. Chocolates, lollipops, sweets, candies and even macarons. He also got some pieces of metal and other tools. Little cat buried himself in his garage for the next few days to work on his special popper. There were many loud noises from the hammerings and sparkling flames flickering from the welder.

The neighbours were curious where the little cat had been as they did not see him for days. At the same time, they enjoyed the peace of not being pranked. However, the noise and the flashing lights caught their attention, and they wondered what the little cat was doing.

Days passed. Finally, the little cat’s creation is completed! It was a huge, shiny and impressive party popper. Instead of confetti, it was replaced by all the sweets, chocolates, candies and yummy snacks!

Little cat made a grand exit out of his house to the streets by rolling out his new creation. When the neighbours on the streets saw the big popper, they screamed! Everyone started scuffling hysterically and shouted, “Little cat made a machine! He is coming after us!”

Standing nearest to the little cat was Doggie. He was trembling and too afraid to move. He stood there and stared at the little cat with sweat all over his forehead. Little cat grinned and pointed his popper at him. “Don’t move! And follow my instructions!” he demanded.

Doggie did as he was told. “Please don’t hurt me.” He pleaded. “Open your mouth.” Instructed Little cat. Doggie slowly opened his mouth warily. Little cat pulled the popper string immediately.

“POP!” One of the peanut butter balls flew straight into the Doggie’s mouth. He was so terrified that he nearly fainted. He fell to the ground, thinking that he must be injured. As he lies down on the ground, he realised that he was not in any pain.

Instead, he felt a tasty sweetness in his mouth. As something seemed to drip from his lips, he wiped it with his hand. At first, he smelled it. It was a nutty smell. He then tasted it.

Slowly, he sat up. He was stunned that it was just peanut butter! Doggie pointed to his mouth, which is wide opened, and signalled to the little cat to pop another one.

The nearby animals who were watching from afar were puzzled by the Doggie’s action. They were worried when the Doggie fell on the floor, but his behaviour after that was surprising.

After the second pop of peanut butter, the Doggie was satisfied. Little cat told Doggie apologetically, “I am sorry for annoying everyone with my pranks. This is something I created as a treat for all my friends. I want to play with all of you again.”

Doggie realised the little cat was trying to reconcile with everyone. He burst out laughing. “Ha! Ha! Ha! This is one of the most creative apologies that I have come across. But I forgive you for your sincerity.” Then, the Doggie turned around and announced to everyone, “ Friends, I am fine. Do not worry. This is a party popper full of tasty peanut butter, chocolate, and candies treat. They are so yummy. Come and try them!”

At first, the animal hesitated. Then, the little rabbit stepped forward. Followed by Little sheep and little chicks. Soon, everyone started moving towards Little Cat and his shiny popper.

“Let’s get the party started!” Everyone cheered. The little cat was delighted and began popping the chocolates and candies all over the friends’ mouths. However, there were just too many of them. Soon, he ran out of chocolates and sweets. There were still many friends who did not get their share.

“Wait for me!” Little cat exclaimed. He hurried home as he was all prepared and already had a plan. He had an even bigger party popper launcher which he stored a mountain of chocolate and candies!

The animals were fascinated when they saw the gigantic machine. Little cat pointed the party popper launcher into the sky. “Boom!” Countless candies blast into the sky and fell.

“It’s raining candies!” the animals cheered. Everyone seemed exhilarated. Some tried to catch the falling candies by extending their hands. Some lifted their heads to try to catch them with opened mouths, while others picked them from the ground and place them in their pockets.

The little cat was ecstatic to see his friends enjoying themselves and that he was able to bring joy to them. All the animals forgave the little cat and were impressed by his creativity. Now, the little cat understood that he received more happiness when his friends were happy.
